My Palette

If you go on a picnic and the water is turning into wine before your very eyes - because nothing is just a picnic, don't you see? - well, then you have an explanation for the magic that exists already.

Paula Rego
(Suzie Mackenzie, Don't Flinch, Don't Hide: Paula Rego, The Guardian Weekend Magazine, 30/11/02)

Photographers, painters, film-makers, writers; magicians of the everyday. These are people I have become acquainted with or re-discovered again over time. I would like to introduce you briefly to the characters I became most enamoured with and share any influences they have had on my work or thinking.

This list is in no way exhaustive;everyday seems to uncover more creative chaotic gems: Sarah Moon, Deborah Turbeville, Susan Derges, Jo Self, John Fowles,Massimo Rao and Denton Welch to name but a very few, all bookmarked for further investigation
